內膜增生是狹窄發展的主要病理基礎，對於內膜增生問題醫界也不斷找尋各種應對方法，例如:切割球囊血管成形術、裸金屬支架、覆膜支架、藥物塗層球囊血管成形術等等……，對於切割球囊與塗藥球囊Dr. Tay Kiang Hiong做了更進一步的研究，將只使用切割球囊或只使用塗藥球囊治療的患者，對比同時使用切割球囊與塗藥球囊治療患者的術後通暢率，呈現客觀的結果與結論。
